about

Bons is Kevin Cormack, Matthew Hunt and Mathew Fowler.
Additional voices on 'All As And No Ack' and 'Totem' by Aimee Henderson.
Additional guitar on 'Fan The Old Flame' by Phil Gardner

"Electro-acoustic hocus pocus and melancholic, digitally disrupted chamber-folk miniatures from the trio of Kevin Cormack, Matthew Hunt and Mathew Fowler... like a Witchseason production hijacked by Position Normal. Fowler and Cormack are behind some of our favourite underground sides of recent times, all released, like Gras H'utsi, through their own Spillage Fete private press. As with their duo project Jam Money, and Cormack's solo work as Harry Deerness, Bons is driven by a collagistic, ambient pop impulse which can be traced back through early 2000s British post-rock (Disco Inferno, Pram) to the 80s DIY pastoralia of Flaming Tunes, Leven Signs et al. Fragments of rootsy, arcadian instrumentation - acoustic guitar, woodwind, violin, muted horn - sutured together with eerie synth sustains, hypnotic hand-drums, and a panoply of richly evocative, often disquieting samples (from the sound of jammed computer keys to lovelorn, Kevin Ayers-ish vocal refrains). Carriers of secret knowledge."- Low Company
